This morning I was reading an article on Monster about the Six Signs You Are In the Wrong Job. Number five talked about being in it just for the money - we all have to eat - and figuring out what you do that you love, and getting paid for that.
I've been saying for years that if I suddenly found myself in a situation where I didn't need to work for the money anymore (oh, poor me, right?) then after I took a little time off to buy a bigger house and do a bit of travelling, I'd put my name on the substitute teacher list here in town and spend a few days each week teaching kids. I might even do it full-time!
I'm off to sub for the middle schoolers again today. While I hate getting up while it's dark out, it's much easier when I know I'll have a fun day of curiosity and kids in front of me.
If I didn't need the money, I'd do exactly what I'm going to do today. How awesome is today?
